Acetone and Styrofoam

A few people have asked me "How'd you get that stone texture in your foam"?
Well ... I did a quick little video to show how I did it.
Chris over at The Davis Graveyard came up with an idea about creating a group display. A bunch of halloween prop builder/artist types would make a spider and donate it for a display. You can visit the SpiderFEST2010 website to learn more.
Mrs and I decided to join in on the fun and we are both making one! I'm almost finished so I'll post a picture when it's ready to ship out. Oh, and did I mention Chris HATES spiders?
This will be the first year I dress for the the big night. What might I be ... an UnDead Pirate! I have just about everything gathered together, just a few details and it will be finished!
So, I've been trying to decide on what project to get started on now. There is a lot I'd like to do but I must prioritize to see if I can get everything done for this year. I have some much needed help this year (my fault for not planning better) for this year so I might actually get all my projects completed … just have to wait and see!
68 Days and counting until the display is set up!
Well, I'm trying to get into full swing with my prop building, but the weather has been HOT. So hot in fact, that some of my glue material has been melting before it has time to set up. Looks like I'm going to have to keep some builds inside until the weather cools off a little.
So, I was told not do any Halloween prop building until February. Does a birthday gift that involves making Halloween props count as prop building? I say not ... but since it is a gift, I can't post pictures until it's done and in the birthday person's hands!
For now, all I can do is wish everyone a Happy New Year and promise to post pictures soon. UPDATE: Pictures posted!
